I had an NHS emergency appointment today at Alpha Dental Care, and I couldn’t be more impressed. From the moment I walked in, the staff were incredibly warm and welcoming, which immediately put me at ease.
A special thank you to Dr. Rachel, who was simply outstanding. Despite it being an emergency appointment, she took her time with my dental filling, ensuring everything was done thoroughly and with great care—nothing felt rushed at all. She also answered all my questions with patience and clarity, which made a huge difference to my experience.
It’s rare to receive such attentive and compassionate care during an NHS emergency visit, and I’m truly grateful. Thank you, Alpha Dental Care and Dr. Rachel, for going above and beyond!

Went to this practice for a filling in December ‘24. Filling fell out 4 months later. Receptionist booked me in with the wrong dentist and so I was charged £105 for the work. You would expect a filling to last longer than this.
I’m an anxious patient and this kind of disruption causes more anxiety, stress, and I’m now left out of pocket for their errors.

Always have a great experience, reception are lovely and friendly, checked in for my appointment, called in on time, seen and looked after during my appointment. Prescription given and next appointment made. Given treatment plan to read, gentleman held the door open for me as I had the double pram. Overall fantastic visit from my dentist very happy patient. Thank you 😊

My partner went here for an emergency appointment after being in unbearable pain for the whole night. We were clear from the beginning that we are not registered with this practice. So he got offered an emergency appointment under the NHS access scheme (we didn't ask, but thought that was nice). So he shows up, gets an x-ray done, finds out that the tooth needs urgent treatment (no surprise there). At this point, they say they do not take any new patients and that they won't do anything during an emergency appointment, told to go find somewhere else.
We call 111 and explain the situation to them. They ask us why we haven't had any treatment if we had an emergency appointment already. Gave us the same type of appointment in Durham. We go there, and he gets his root canal treatment started immediately, also under NHS access. So we paid the same amount of money, but finally got the pain addressed and the urgent treatment needed. Yet again, we were asked there why this practice did not do anything and told us that we should lodge a complaint.
My question then is... why didn't you?? What is the purpose of your emergency appointment? What did he pay the money for?? Just to be told the obvious and then be booted off somewhere else. We were fully prepared to pay for private care here just to have some sort of pain relief because, like thousands of other people, we do not have an NHS dentist.
Shame on you for wasting our time and money and not doing anything despite it obviously being an emergency. If you are not providing emergency treatment services, for NHS or for private, then maybe don't accept appointments?

What is your cancellation policy?
