Matthew Hodgson

Clinical Lead

GDC: 244944

I qualified from University of Newcastle-upon-Tyne in 2013 with Merit in Clinical Dentistry and the NEMLS Prize.
After qualifying, I stayed in the region to complete vocational training and was awarded the FGDP Prize for my portfolio. I went on to pass the Membership examinations with Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in 2019. Over my years in practice I’ve developed a passion for restorative and aesthetic dentistry, with a special interest in Endodontics (Root Canal Treatment). I hold a Masters Degree in Endodontics (Distinction) from University of Chester and I was awarded the 2026 Aspiring Endodontic Researcher prize by the British Endodontic Society. The majority of my work is carried out with the benefit of an operating microscope, which allows me to work to the highest level of precision and accept patient referrals for complex root canal work. In my limited spare time I love reading as much as possible and I’m a keen musician.
